:: A BRIEF HISTORY OF H YOUNG ::

 

 1871 Henry Young opens his foundry in Eccleston Street Pimlico
 1900’s Works moved to Nine Elms, London, and commenced structural steelwork fabrication for the construction industry.
 1920’s Office at Thornycroft House, Smith Square opened
 1925 Murray Buxton M.C.M.A buys majority of H. Young & Co. Ltd shares
 1930’s The depression causes many staff to be laid off
 1935 - 7             Exeter office opened, followed by Coventry and Guildford
 1935 Jersey Steel Company Ltd founded
 1936 Power and Dean Ransomes Ltd acquired BCSA established, H. Young & Co Limited one of the founder members.
 1937 Durham Steelwork Ltd opened in Gateshead
 1939 Outbreak of war, H Young assisted in the war effort fabricating Bailey Bridges, and Mulbury Harbour sections.
 1943 Nine Elms works bombed. Fabrication moved to Lea Bridge, London
 1946 Jersey Steel re-opened after German occupation
 1950’s Companies started in Africa
 1977 H Young Structures Ltd established.
 1995 H. Young Structures Ltd re-located to Wymondham, Norfolk
